Style

It is important to have the correct style or image for the band because once you create one the band must be consistent with it. It is important to stick to being a heightened version of what the band really is, that way you don’t run the risk of moving away from their brand. The public tends to favour a more authentic approach to branding, as opposed to a commercial product that has nothing that rather represents the label than the actual band

Music isn’t everything in this industry and it is important to look the part when it comes to be an artist or part of a band. Many genres of music have a specific dress code that is very common. For example, the rock genre will heavily consist of leather and boots and pop will be very cutesy and fashionable. Whilst dressing to suit your genre can sometimes become stereotypical, it is also a way of making the band identifiable in that particular genre.

Bands can become tricky when trying to create an image that is uniform and identifiable and this can be hard when there is more than one person/personality.If a band consists of various strong personalities, try to embody them in one unique style. Allowing band members to use their own individual style, without fitting in with everybody else, doesn’t tend to work as the band then becomes a mismatch of solo artists. However, each member can have a unique detail that separates them from the rest.

For example, Caio wears sunglasses in every performance.

Below, is the band Castafellas, a band that formed in my school and still continues to perform together, from which we have taken inspiration for wardrobe.
